Reflection
Compositionally, this photo has a strong light coming in from the left, I used the edge of the frame to focus more on the chain than the rest of the fire hydrant, and I used the chain to lead the eyes along the picture. Technically, this photo has a shallow depth of field, a big contrast between whites and blacks, and this photo is in black and white. I considered the direction and intensity of the light to create the contrast. I also used a bird's eye view so that I wouldn't get an unnecessary amount of the hydrant in the photograph. Artistically, this is an odd subject matter, not many people use fire hydrants as the subject in a photograph. I think this will hold a viewer's attention, because the chain leads the eyes across the whites and blacks along the chain and it's shadow.
